Film, Television and New Media offers the opportunity for students to develop teamwork, problem solving skills, project management, filming and editing skills as they produce media productions. They also develop critical literacy skills enabling them to think, question, and express ideas when designing media and analysing and evaluating media.
Future pathways include director, script writer, editor, film and TV camera operator, producer, teacher, film critic
Junior Secondary
In years 7, 8 ,9 and 10 students can study film in their electives. Taking these elective units prepares students to study film in their senior years of schooling as well as developing the student's creative skills and ability to work in a team.
In film classes students learn about many different styles of film and media from horror to the impact of social media. They create their own film projects before filming and finally editing their own work.
Film classes cater for both the beginner film maker to those who have spent many years developing their film and media skills.
Senior Secondary
In Years 11 and 12, Sstudent can choose General/ATAR pathway.

Film, Television and New Media uses an inquiry learning model, developing critical thinking skills
and creative capabilities through the exploration of five key concepts that operate in the contexts
of production and use. The key concepts of technologies, representations, audiences, institutions
and languages are drawn from a range of contemporary media theories and practices.
