Enrolments now open for 2027
Enrolling at Ipswich State High School
Thank you for considering Ipswich State High School for your child's education.
Ipswich State High School operates under a Department of Education Enrolment Management Plan. This allows the school to prioritise enrolments for students who reside within our designated catchment area, with limited places available for out-of-catchment students where capacity permits.
We are continuously enrolling in-catchment students throughout the year and are currently inviting enrolment applications for 2027, particularly for students entering Year 7.
Enrolment interviews for 2027 will commence shortly.
Important Information Before Applying
Please read the following information carefully before commencing your enrolment application.
In-Catchment Enrolments
Students who reside within the school catchment area are our priority for enrolment consideration.
Families can confirm their catchment eligibility using the Queensland Government School Catchment Map.
Out of Catchment Enrolments
Out of catchment enrolments for Year 7–10 in 2026 are now closed.
Applications for out-of-catchment enrolment for 2027 are currently being accepted; however:
- placement is not guaranteed
- applications are assessed in line with the school's Enrolment Management Plan and available capacity
- outcomes for applications may not be confirmed until late Term 3 or early Term 4 2026, depending on the timing of the application
Families applying for out-of-catchment enrolment are strongly encouraged to also submit an enrolment application with their local catchment school while awaiting the outcome of their application to Ipswich State High School.
