Letter from The Principal

The past two weeks have been another wonderful reminder of the energy, talent and community spirit that make Ipswich State High School such a great place to learn and work.

A sincere thank you to the many staff, students, families and community members who have supported the incredible range of activities happening across our school. From our Variety Concert and School Play, Unfiltered, to our Rugby League home games and other school events, these opportunities simply would not be possible without the commitment of the people who organise, supervise, coach, perform, compete and cheer from the sidelines. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed.

There is plenty more to look forward to! Next week we celebrate National Science Week, with our Science team and UQ Science Ambassadors planning a range of activities, competitions and opportunities for students to get involved. This will be followed by Book Week, with this year's theme Symphony of Stories bringing another exciting program of activities across the school.

Finally, our 2026 School Opinion Survey is currently open. I strongly encourage all parents and carers to take a few minutes to complete the survey before it closes on Friday 21 August. Your feedback provides valuable information about what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve.

Thank you for continuing to support our students and our school.

Fortnightly Focus

This fortnight, we are focusing on following school processes for the safe and responsible use of technology.

At Ipswich State High School, responsible technology use means following staff instructions, using devices and online platforms appropriately, and making choices that support safe and productive learning.

We encourage all students to take responsibility for how they use technology and help create a safe, respectful and focused learning environment for everyone.
