Letter from The Principal
As Term 2 draws to a close, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for another busy and rewarding semester at Ipswich State High School. Throughout the term, students have embraced the many opportunities available to them, demonstrating the pride, talent and diversity that make our school such a special place.
A highlight of the week was our Annual Multicultural Evening, which was a resounding success. The performances, food and celebrations showcased the rich cultural diversity of our school community and reflected the strong sense of belonging that exists at ISHS. Thank you to our students, staff and families who contributed to making this event such a memorable occasion.
The Multicultural Evening is just one example of the wonderful opportunities students experience every day at ISHS. Whether in the classroom, on the sporting field, through the arts or in community events, our students continue to make the most of all that our school has to offer.
I wish all members of our school community a safe and happy holiday break. We look forward to welcoming students back for the commencement of Term 3 on Monday 13 July and another exciting term of learning and achievement.

Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Support During the Holidays
The winter school holidays are an important opportunity for students to rest, recharge and spend time with family and friends. However, we recognise that some young people may experience increased stress, anxiety or feelings of isolation during this time. Families are reminded that a range of free support services remain available throughout the holiday period.
ICYS is a local service providing free support, information and referrals for young people and families in the Ipswich region.
If you have immediate concerns for your child's safety or wellbeing, please contact Triple Zero (000) or attend your nearest hospital emergency department.
We wish all students and families a safe, happy and restful holiday and look forward to welcoming students back for Term 3 on Monday 13 July.
Winter Uniform Expectations – Term 3
As the weather becomes cooler, we would like to remind students and families of the winter uniform expectations at Ipswich State High School.
Winter uniform items are to be worn over, not instead of, the approved school uniform. Students are expected to wear their sports uniform from Monday to Thursday and formal uniform on Fridays, with winter items added as an extra layer for warmth.
Approved school jackets and tracksuit pants are available for purchase from the ISHS Uniform Shop. Families may also choose suitable plain navy jackets and tracksuit pants available from local retail stores. Please note that hoodies and beanies are not permitted as part of the ISHS Student Dress Code.
We encourage families to ensure students have the appropriate winter uniform items ready for the start of Term 3. Uniform expectations will continue to be consistently enforced throughout the term to support high standards and a strong sense of pride and belonging at Ipswich State High School.

Attention Students catching the 5237 and 5269 morning buses
Westside Bus Company has advised that from the start of term 3 the 5237 will be starting from Shanahan Pde to take Ipswich State High School students that aren't able to catch 5269 due to a lack of capacity. Students that catch the 5237 from Collingwood Dr will need to catch the bus on Duncan St.

Semester Academic Awards – Save the Date
Save the date for our Semester 1 Academic Awards.
On Tuesday 4th August, we will be celebrating students who achieved outstanding academic results in Semester 1.
We look forward to recognising their hard work, commitment and success during Term 3.

Fortnightly Focus
Our first Focus of the Fortnight for next term is Responsibility: I display pride by wearing the correct winter uniform.
As the cooler weather continues, we encourage all students to wear the correct Ipswich State High School winter uniform each day. This is a simple way students can show pride in themselves, our school and our values of Respect and Responsibility.
