The Young Families Connect Program is on site at Ipswich SHS, a purpose-built educational facility catering for the unique learning and support needs of pregnant and parenting women.
This facility also operates a specialised adjunct care nursery, The Millen Kully Moolum Centre, where young mothers can access free essential childcare and parenting skill support.
The YFC Program offers a holistic approach to supporting young mothers.
Student's academic goals of attaining a QCE are supported through the completion of nationally recognised training certificates and transitions to post-secondary school employment and study (see Courses & Programs).
Students also receive the necessary parenting and external agency support they require to ensure they are successful (see Partnerships).
This facility is unmatched throughout Queensland in its unique and remarkable ability to provide educational and social supports to this vulnerable and marginalised cohort of secondary students.
